Dr. Ting Liu

Ting Liu, Ph.D.

Ting Liu, Ph.D. is an associate professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Texas State University and the Director of Research Division in the Center for P-16 initiatives Caminitos Collaborative. Dr. Liu earned her Ph.D. in Early Childhood Motor Development from the University of Texas at Austin. She has 15 years of experience in research in early childhood motor and cognitive development and assessment in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and low SES preschool children. Dr. Liu was the recipient of the 2014 Presidential Award for Excellence in Research at Texas State University and the 2011 Lolas E. Halverson Motor Development and Learning Young Investigator National Award. Dr. Liu is involved in designing and implementing sensory, motor, cognitive, and school readiness interventions for San Marcos children with ASD and underserved preschool children. She has years of experience in research design, statistics, and data analysis. Dr. Liu teaches a graduate applied statistics class at Texas State University. She also leads the data collections and analysis, decides on assessment instrumentations, and has been actively involved in writing the presentations, reports, research manuscripts, and grants. Her scholarly achievements have been recognized both locally and nationally.
