Your Self-Guided Tour
A. Registering Minors on Campus
All individuals under the age of 18 are to be registered when visiting campus. This helps ensure accountability and safety for all visitors.
Please visit the Minors on Campus page to register all minors.
1. This form requires a contact person on campus. Please use:
First name: Center for P16
Last name: Center for P16
2. The form requires you to upload a list of all students/chaperones.
3. You must also upload a tour itinerary: write your own or use these sample 1 hour and 2 hour tour schedules as a guide to create an honest account for all activities planned on Texas State property.
B. Driving Directions & Parking
If arriving by bus, please inform your driver that all buses must park at Bobcat Stadium after dropping off your group. School bus / private coach parking on campus is not permitted.
Due to high traffic and rights of access, any buses left on campus will be towed at the expense of the group. Once registered, we will provide driving and parking directions with a convenient tour drop off/pick up point and Bobcat Stadium parking.
The Bobcat Stadium pay and display terminal is credit card only. No parking or idling is allowed on campus. Please arrange for your driver to drop off and pick up students in a timely manner.
Visitors who arrive in vehicle(s) that fit into a regular parking bay may park on campus at the Edward Gary or LBJ Student Center Garage, space permitting. These garages accept bills no larger than $20, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal cards. No checks please. Please visit the Parking Services page for more information at www.parking.txstate.edu/visitors.
C. Accommodations & Dining
The Texas State campus is wheelchair and scooter accessible. Regrettably, there is no place on our campus to rent or secure a wheelchair or scooter.
If someone in your party is in need of an interpreter, please contact the Interpreter Coordinator at 512.245.3451.
Dining on campus
When visiting campus, your group is welcome to eat at one of our campus dining halls. Please contact Dining Services to purchase meal tickets. Alternatively, our campus offers a beautiful setting for your outdoor sack lunch.
Once your registration is complete, we will send you a self-guided walking tour which includes a campus map.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your questions/comments.
Groups of 20 or fewer can enjoy Commons Dining Hall buffet-style cafeteria, or visit the dining options in the LBJ Student Center. Larger groups should contact Dining Services in advance to ensure accommodations are in place.
Weather and space permitting, groups often enjoy picnicking at Sewell Park.
Visitors are restricted from entering residence halls. The university is an open campus, allowing entry to most academic buildings to visitors who follow the Code of Conduct.
You may visit the LBJ Student Center which offers campus maps and directions. The Bobcat Store is located on the second floor of the LBJ Student Center, along with several dining options for small groups.
Time permitting, the Wittliff Collections on the 7th floor of the Alkek Library welcome visitors. Contact Wittliff staff at 512.245.2313.
